How much the mules carry
Packages include 35 kg per person, split like this:
- Puente del Inca → Confluencia10 kg
- Confluencia → Plaza de Mulas10 kg
- Puente del Inca → Plaza de Mulas25 kg
- Plaza de Mulas → Puente del Inca (down)35 kg
How to pack
- Use a tough closed duffel bag with your name clearly visible.
- Mules leave early: hand in your bag the night before or first thing in the morning.
- Keep what you need on the trail in your day pack: warm layer, water, sunscreen and lunch.
- Need more weight? Tell us in advance and we quote the extra section.
The mules
Loads are carried by experienced muleteers from the Horcones valley. We work within the park rules for animal care.
